Project Access is an innovative physician volunteer program providing healthcare to the uninsured. This approach of organizing volunteer physicians to form a network of services started in 1996 by the Buncombe County Medical Society in Asheville, NC. BCMS developed CARES to manage the work flow of screening patients for enrollment, managing physician pledges and referrals, and tracking outcomes. Software Integrity has worked closely with BCMS to take CARES from a desktop application to a hosted web application enabling Project Access communities across the country to benefit from this comprehensive system. CaresAccess is continuously developed to meet the needs of the many Project Access Communities using the application:
